still trying to figure out what is going on where clicking on a date  
with an event in calendar produces a 404-error, even though rolling  
mouse over date shows events and clicking on same events in upcoming  
events widget works OK

is it the category? don't see how to reconfig category "9" which seems  
like a couple wp 2x revs before 2.5 upgrade

could this be some permalink issue from previous iterations of wp-db  
upgraded during 2.5 and 2.51 installs??

settings are for

category set to EVENTS
HIDE SCHEDULE
EVENTS ARE NORMAL POSTS
