Is it too much bother for the plugin author to weigh in on this? At least
say, I'm too busy to bother.

The Pretty Permalink issue is either a big one, and in that case affects
a number of blogs, or is isolated, and I don't think it's isolated. I
have several blogs on several different web hosts and they all exhibit
this problem.

I'm ready to open my wallet to get the problem solved. Anyone?
