[EventCalendar] filtering out past events via wp query_posts

Hi All,

Has anyone tried this?? I'm aware of the advanced queries, but I'm trying to display all upcoming events on my WP index page.? Perhaps someone could break down how "ec3_after=today" works and I could integrate this into 'query_posts'?
