[EventCalendar] upgrading from 3.0

Pardon a newbie with just enough PHP/MySQL/WordPress knowledge to be dangerous...

I was using EventCalendar version 3.0 with WP 2.0.2 until last night. I finally upgraded WP to 2.3.2 and EventCalendar 3.0 no longer worked. So, I downloaded, unzipped, and activated EventCalendar 3.1.1.rc3. It appears to be working fine for new posts, but all my "old" events (over 400!) do not show in the calendar, and now show in the main blog. Is there any way to "convert" the old/existing events so version 3.1.1.rc3 will "see" them and they won't show in the main blog entries? I realize I could manually edit all of them with the new interface elements for 3.1.1.rc3, but that would take a while for over 400 events!
