[EventCalendar] adding items JUST for calendar

Oh, I see.

I'll bet this is a "box model" CSS problem. At least it shows the  
classic symptoms.

Try making the side just a scoche smaller. It's getting pushed out in  
IE, probably because the box is rendering a bit bigger.

What I will often do is push the sidebar over with a float:right, then  
make it small. I will also often use absolute positioning (as I do in  
the site I mentioned).
