[EventCalendar] Any reason why 'Show more posts' would be affected by EC3 + can I activate/deactive EC3 to test?

I have been very stupid - there were only four posts to display - I had put the rest in an events category and chosen not to display them in the main blog. How much time did I waste...I think I need a holiday.
