[EventCalendar] Any reason why 'Show more posts' would be affected by EC3 + can I activate/deactive EC3 to test?

Hullo there

I have this curious thing where whatever theme I use (so I assume its not hard coded) only four posts appear on my home page - the 'Show more posts' has no effect in admin panel. I wondered if this was a known problem with EC3.

THe other question is can I deactivate then reactive EC3 to find out without losing data/messing things up?
