[EventCalendar] How can I change the format of the date in the sidebar

I would like to change the appearance of the date in the upcoming events
list in the sidebar. At the moment it looks like e.g. "19 Mai", but I want
to show the year too, so it should look like "19. Mai 2008". Where can I
change this in the code?
