[EventCalendar] Seperating Events and Articles

Running eventcalendar on the Scout website, and I have a need to show  
some Events as articles prior to the event, but some that I do not  
want to appear until after the event (if at all). Can I mix the  
settings to show events as posts, on an entry by entry case?

An example you say? Well, take a look at http://www.eastleigh-scouts.org.uk/district/177 
  which gives a list of the meetings for the next few weeks. I have  
also added these into EC3, but have switched off 'Show events as  
posts' as I do not need to display them on the website, but merely  
events in the calendar.

Future events I will want to publish, and also tag as an event in EC3.  
How can i do that, without all the meetings listed in the AGM Article  
also appearing on the website?

If not, what do the community recommend as an alternative option?
