Spamming/hacking incident(s) may have been a red herring, maybe not.
Interestingly --a very recent change-- EVENTS DID NOT APPEAR UNNDER
MANAGE POSTS. I had to change the setting for event calendar to show as
normal posts before I could edit and remove the spam. I then tried to
remove the offending events that caused the jump in dates as referred
below, but that did not help.
All events prior to April 4th display properly when the date is clicked
in the aevent calendar widget. I have increased the number of upcoming
events displayed to make up for the problems with the event calendar widget.
I suppose I should peer into the MySQL tables next.
