[EventCalendar] The Final Release of WP 2.3 Removes a Couple of Big Tables

this sounds like an interesting solution for all these people who  
suffer from early 2.3 upgrades.  do you think we could turn it into a  
"while-we-wait" emergency patch plugin?

I'd be happy to spend a couple of hours developing and/or testing
