[EventCalendar] How do I display a list of Past or
Previous Events on the sidebar?

hello doctor,
i have re-downloaded and re-installed the ec3_get_past_events plug
into the plugins folder just now, and now there's NO PROBLEM.
No database error when I activated it and I can get into my site
fine. (the only difference from the 1st failed install is that now i
used safari instead of firefox, but it may have been because the
first downloaded zip file was corrupted? am not sure)
That said, I think I may have run into another headache! : ) Oh, dear...
First let me backtrack a bit.
========================
Earlier, when you suggested to use this: <?php ec3_get_events('1
day'); ?> on the sidebar to show "Today's Events", I decided NOT to
tweak my sidebar.php to paste that code; but instead I thought about
using the code inside a widget, and leave the sidebar.php clean for
future upgrades.
so I downloaded ExecPHP widget which enables PHP to run inside widgets:
http://widgets.wordpress.com/2006/04/10/execphp/
Once installed, I created 3 ExecPHP widgets and used one of them for
ec3_get_events('1 day');
and that worked fine and dandy. The sidebar started showing a box
with "today's events".
That when I wrote to you with my thanks etc.
OK. ========================
just now, after I've re-installed your ec3_get_past_events plugin,
and activated it:
I pasted ec3_get_past_events(5); into the 2nd ExecPHP widget I
created earlier and saved the page.
so now I should have 1 widget showing "Today's Events" and 1 widget
showing "Past Events". That's the plan.
However, it didn't work. Instead something weird happened.
I have TWO "Today's Events"! boxes in the sidebar but NO "Past Events".
it seems like your plugin has somehow repeated what "<?php
ec3_get_events('1 day'); ?>" was doing.
And so, I deactivated the "Today's Events" widget (drag the widget
back into the holding box) and left the new "Past Events" widget
(with ec3_get_past_events ) there.
Still, the "Past Events" widget is showing "Today's Events"!
Hmmm. I'm stumped.
========================
is this right: <?php ec3_get_past_events(5); ?> - to show 5 past events?
I'll be playing with it some more in the morning. Will report then.
too sleepy to go on now!
cheers,
JK
