[EventCalendar] Is EC3 good to go with WP23?

Interesting. I have a number of blogs. I chose one to sacrifice to WP  
2.3. This particular blog does not have EventCalendar.

1. Upgrade to WP 2.3 (simple, fast)
2. Install eventcalendar311rc1
3.  Create a new category called "Events"
4. Configure EC to use this category
5. Add an event
6. Put both Event Calendar and Upcoming Events widgets into my sidebar

uhhh - they just seem to work as expected.

So where's the black art code that "fixes" references to the post2cat  
table which surely does not exist?
