You might seriously consider upgrading your wordpress to 2.0.11, the
latest release of the legacy version (or perhaps 2.2.2 - there seem to
be some issues with the latest release of 2.3).

I run wp 2.0.11 now. Before I upgraded, I suddenly started having
problems with the event calendar. They were cleared up as soon as I
moved to the latest version of the legacy wp.
