it may be that you have to use ec3_the_schedule instead.
Here is the code I am using on my site. The syntax is the same as ec3_get_schedule
<?php ec3_the_schedule('%1$s ','%1$s %3$s %2$s. ','<div class="ec3_the_schedule" >This event will run on %s </div>' ); ?>
You can see this working on www.spondonoffroad.co.uk in the events category from the sidebar.

Subject: [EventCalendar] get_schedule in posts
Hallo!
I would like to ask WHERE exactly one has to insert
ec3_get_schedule('%s; ','%1$s %3$s %2$s. ','[ %s] ');
to generate a plain text schedule in posts instead of the default-
table. I tried to insert
<?php ec3_get_schedule('%s; ','%1$s %3$s %2$s. ','[ %s] '); ?>
into single.php. With no results. Or has one to change the code in
eventcalendar3.php
On the other hand that table is quite ok if it would displayed not in
the left but in the right top corner of the post.
Some hints would be great.
Regards.
A
