[EventCalendar] Config Issue: How to exclude event category from pages display?

Hi folks,

I'm currently configuring a Wordpress site for a friend over at http://www.balcultrystables.com

I've installed the eventcalendar 3.1.1._rc3  plugin and it's all groovy with one exception. I've opted not to display the events as posts which works fine on the main page, but if I visit any other 'pages' on the site (e.g. the horizontal navigation bar at the top of the site page) the sidebar 'recent posts' widget thingy displays all the event entries as recent posts.

So, basically it seems to work for the main page (where event scheduling posts are not shown), but does not work for any other page... but since my sidebar is displayed on all pages this is causing me a problem. If you visit the site and look at the home page, then any of the other pages you will see the problem (I've got 2 future events displaying in the sidebar at present).

Can someone tell me please how I change Eventcalendar V3 or the sidebar recent posts widget thingy to not display any event related / scheduling posts for ALL pages, rather than just the FRONT PAGE? Thank you.
