Absolutely. Recent updates to WordPress broke pieces of EC 3.1.0. You'll be 
fine with EC 3.1.1. RC3.

I am running eventcalendar310. Do you mean I should use eventcalendar311rc3
?

as it is a release candidate I intentionally overlooked it.
