[EventCalendar] Events in Archive lists

Hi Alex,
Event Calendar is a really great plugin, and I have had several comments
from club members of my site who really like it, so thank you very much
for all your hard work!
Now a question.. in the club web site I have developed, the Monthly
Archives show Events by their post date - ( I don't think this is part
of the hacks I have done to my site ;)
Is this normal? If so, it's understandable because they _are_ posts, but...
To explain a bit, the site I developed for my sailing club has 140
events during the year. I wrote a routine to import them all to
wordpress and event calendar, and set the "post created date" to make
them all 1/1/yyy - with time incremented in 1 second intervals.
This keeps them out of the way, but the archive for January 1st shows
all 140 events!
See this at the club site http://www.budworthsc.org.uk
Click the archive for January in the sidebar, and there they all are!

Would you expect this with a totally "standard" theme that uses
EventCalendar 3.1.1_rc1 ?
If so, what would be the best way to "hide" them from the archives
completely?

Thanks
Chris H
