[EventCalendar] Full page calendar

I have read all sorts of information in the past week. At WP.org, in this list's archives, and on a variety of other sites on the net. 

I STILL can't figure out how to make a whole page calendar - preferably one with a list of events underneath it, sorted by event date not posting date. Can someone please give me the "For Complete Idiots" version walk through of how to do this?
