[EventCalendar] How to make event calendar always show the most current month, even in the archives...

[Shanghai PRC]

I am using Event Calendar in my sidebar (not as a widget). I am using
ec3_get_calendar() to display the calendar.

It works fine for all of this month's posts, but if I see a post from last
year in November, then the sidebar displays the event calendar from last
year in November... but this is not what I want.

Instead I want to always show the current month on the sodebar. Any way I
can "fix" it to always show the current month?
