[EventCalendar] Show just one event on calendar and blog

I've got my calendar set up to not display calendar events on the 
blog (most of them are too repetitive).  However, I'd like to 
display an occasional big event on the blog as well as the 
calendar.

I've assigned the event multiple categories ("blog" and 
"calendar") but that doesn't appear to have done the trick.  I'm 
sure I'm just missing something, because it's been that kind of 
week.  Anyone?  Anyone?

It also turns out my fix for the full-page display doesn't work 
after all; it still won't show events for previous and next 
months.  Something to work on over the summer.
