[EventCalendar] Event Category Grayed Out

Hi,

Really hate to bother you, but I'm stumped.

I upgraded to WordPress 2.1 and then upgraded to EventCalendar 
3.1.1.rc1. Now, when I go to select the category I've set for my events 
on the "Write Post" page, it is grayed out and I'm not able to select it 
from the "Categories" list. I tried creating a new category for events, 
but that just ended up being grayed out and non-selectable, too. This 
has been happening since I upped to WP 2.1, but the new EC 3.1.1.rc1 
didn't rectify the problem. I searched the mailing list for an answer, 
but I didn't see anybody else having this problem.

Thank you. I love EC and I'm dying to use it again.
