[EventCalendar] Force posts with future dates to appear in EventCalendar

There used to be a hack, you could tell WP to actually display future  
posts

but not everybody was able to reproduce that.  there also used to be  
a show future posts plugin for 1.5

but I don't even know if that hook figby.com was using at that time  
is still available etc.
