[EventCalendar] breaking Fancy Excerpt Plugin

I've been using the Fancy Excerpt Plugin (
http://www.semiologic.com/software/fancy-excerpt/) and I just noticed that
is being deactivated or overpowered by EventCalendar. Is there a way to fix
this?
