[EventCalendar] Creating events outside of posts

I think we discussed this earlier
Best is to tweak your loops so they show the categories you want to  
show, most flexible and not tied in with any specific plug-in logic.  
EventCalendar fully supports that,but I have to create a working  
example on wp 2.3 -- an example on wp 2.2 is http://www.scope34.org  
(in German, but you'll easily regocnize events, and Calendar is  
Kalender)

wp-ical essentially exports posts to an .ics file, based on  
categories, so I don't even know if it is wp2.3 compatible (no info  
on website nor in codex)
