You can also try clearing the database from old eventcalendar settings and
options, deleting the categories you've made, and after this you can try
installing and configuring the plugin one more time. I have no ideas what
happens in your database, so I don't think I have any other advices, then
those I wrote above.
I can also say that I didn't heard of such problems, so you should better
work by yourself on this problem. I would like to know what was the reason.
