I'm at loss to see what's wrong

(1) http://thisweek.blogs.plymouth.edu/?cat=323

and

(2) http://thisweek.blogs.plymouth.edu/category/featured-event/

*should produce the same results, right?

while (1) actually produces "no events listed" and (2) produces the list

tried rebuilding permalinks?
