[EventCalendar] Display Calendar With Only Events?

I believe there's a much easier way to deal with this.

If you go to Options >> Event Calendar in your WP admin area, there should
be an option "Show all Categories in Calendar." Just make sure that "Only
Show Events" has been selected.
