[EventCalendar] Newbie Install on WP 2

Alex et al,

I've been snooping on this list for months, ever since I found your  
plugin. I'd like to use it for my synagogue's site, but I'm worried  
about two things:

1 - Will it do what I need?
2 - Is it compatible with WP 2 (the "patch" comment on the site  
worries me) and the K2 theme?

I will let you all handle #2. As far as #1 goes, here's what I want:  
I need a calendar that is easy to use, will show the next X events in  
the sidebar, will allow me to show a monthly/weekly calendar on a WP  
page and can handle recurring events. In a perfect world, I would be  
able to tag some events so that they don't show in the sidebar (daily  
prayer services, for example, that recur every day).

So, will EC work?
