Rusty explains subversion nicely.

A little more now. 137 is merely a revision number. To start using an  
actively developed branch of EventCalendar, you'd need to check it  
out first.

I wouldn't recommend getting the latest and greatest unless you're  
willing accept that what you checked out might be just be broken or  
contains bugs.

Files in the 3.0.x branch are stable. 3.1.pre13 (testing) was  
released into the wild on 2006-09-14 and is actually revision 122.  
There have been 15 changes (major and minor) to the source in that  
time. So you won't find 137 and any of the other 14 changes in that  
pre13 release. When Alex deems the code worthy of another release --  
he'll build it for download.
