Patrick:
You have to use a version control application if you want to grab all
of the files from the repository at once. I am using Subversion 1.4
from http://subversion.tigris.org/.
This application runs from the command line (terminal on a Mac). I
found it to not be particularly intuitive for a regular computer user
like myself to get to work. I am also using an add-on GUI called SVNx
(http://www.lachoseinteractive.net/en/community/subversion/svnx/
features/) that makes it a little easier to use, but you still have
to interface with the command line to get it configured.
Here is a great set-up tutorial that got me over the hump:
http://www.joshbuhler.com/2005/07/05/setting-up-the-subversion-client-
on-mac-os-x/
The instructions to do so are (relatively) straight forward. SVNx is
for the Mac platform - there are others out there for the PC. It took
me a little bit of trial-and-error last night to get it to work, but
in the end I learned a couple of new things, and I have access to the
the newest versions of Event Calendar to boot.
