Alex:
I have just tried out the beta version of Event Calendar, and you
have only taken a great plugin and made it better!
The problem that I am running into is that it seems to be
incompatible with a couple of plugins that filter the front page
posts. I have tried it out with both
Front Page Categories by Ryan Boren as well as Opt-In Front Page by
Denis de Bernardy. Both throw a similar error to the one below:
> WordPress database error: [Column 'category_id' in where clause is
> ambiguous]
> SELECT DISTINCT * FROM wp_posts LEFT JOIN wp_post2cat ON
> wp_post2cat.post_id=id LEFT JOIN wp_post2cat AS sem_post2cat ON
> sem_post2cat.post_id = ID WHERE 1=1 AND post_date_gmt <=
> '2006-09-15 15:22:59' AND (post_status = "publish" OR post_author =
> 1 AND post_status != 'draft' AND post_status != 'static') AND
> post_status != "attachment" AND category_id!=3 AND
> sem_post2cat.category_id = 5 GROUP BY wp_posts.ID ORDER BY
> post_date DESC LIMIT 0, 10
The test site is located at: www.protomondo.com/soa. I will leave it
up for a while; it is currently running both "EventCalendar
3.1.pre13" as well as "Opt-In Front Page"
I could of course filter my loop in the index of the theme to only
show the categories that I want on the front page, but I prefer the
plugin route for long-term handiness.
FYI, I also have the "Light Box" plugin activated, but not yet in use
on this test site. I read on the comments list that someone seemed to
be having problems with this config as well; I am experiencing no
difficulties to date with it. I will see what happens if I call the
lightbox plugin from a page that also has the event calendar on it,
although in my site I doubt this will ever happen.
Thanks in advance for any insight towards a fix that you or the group
may offer.
Rusty
