[EventCalendar] shouldn't event posts show up in main page

[Bill Gram-Reefer]

My settings on ec options are

calendar
show schedule
events are normal posts
LA
1
only show events
Single Letter
Show Logo
above calendar
Hide Popups

should I monkey with any of that?

I can see that I can toggle # of upcoming events

Should I just delete the calendar category all together and start  
fresh by

deactivating ec and ec widget
deleting categroy
remake category
reactivate ec and widget
reselect category

??
