[EventCalendar] problem viewing upcoming events with Version 3.1._pre11

Excuse me for replying to myself. I thought maybe there was a problem
with leaving the 3.0.4 folder in the plugin folder (even though it was
disabled)  I have now removed it. 

3.1._pre11 is enabled and now the calendar will not display future
events.

When I click on the calendar for an event in the future, I get a
message saying "Sorry, no posts matched your criteria."

Moving forward on the calendar to Jan2007, there SHOULD be an event on
Jan 1 2007 but nothing appears to be there.

The schedule editor is available and showing for past events but it
took me a while to realize that one has to click on the plus sign to
see the schedule editor  for future events.

Clicking on the events category produces the message "Sorry, no posts
matched your criteria.".

Clicking on a past event on the calendar, shows the event post with
the date that the event was posted and the date of the event below. I
gather this is new? I will have to fix styles because the date posted
is more prominent than the date of the event... But this is not a
problem if I only I could get future events to show!

Any ideas what I have done incorrectly?

P.S. Running WP2.02  (Eventcalendar 3.04 was working beautifully...
should I just reinstall it until bugs are ironed out?)
