[EventCalendar] compiling po to mo

Hi,

My first post here. I like eventcalendar a lot so i tried to change the
dutch translation from

"nabije events" to "komende gebeurtenissen" and "event kalender" to just
"Kalender"

But when i compile the changed po-file with
msgfmt -o ec3-nl_NL.mo ec3-nl_NL.po
and upload the changed mo-file and then refresh my browser, my calendar is
gone.
When i put the original mo-file back it works again.

What am i doing wrong?
